Rhiannon Lucero is the recipient of the Margaret Horn Scholarship and is in the nursing program at Chandler/Gilbert Community College and will continue at Arizona State Nursing Program. Her goal is to become a midwife. She has a passion for helping other women to receive timely, adequate, and professional care.
Angela Muzoz received the Sharon Gale Scholarship. She is pursuing kinesiology at Chandler/Gilbert Community College intending to become a physical therapist. She also wants to be a role model for her children and family to show that a woman can be strong and self-reliant as well as caring for her family.
Amy Chavez accepted the Helen Semple Scholarship. Amy’s goal is to become an aviation maintenance technician. She is enrolled in the Airframe and Power Plant Certification at Chandler/Gilbert Community College.
These three young women are the speakers at our January meeting. They are pursuing higher education and beginning at Chandler Community College and have received a scholarship through our Branch. This is the first time the Branch has expanded the scholarship program to include the Community College level.
