Study and Interest Groups

Study and interest groups are a great way to get involved in the SEV Branch of AAUW. Interesting conversations occur in smaller group settings with like-minded women, and fast friendships can be made. Study/Interest groups enjoy the arts and culture, reading and study, food and fun.

Interest Groups are open to all AAUW members.  For some, as noted, reservations are required.   For Chair or Coordinator contact information, members should go to the Membership Roster in the ‘members-only’ section.

Note: Members, remember to wear your AAUW name tags to all Interest Group activities. Name tags enable us to get to know each other – one of the main purposes of the Interest Groups.

Interest Group Information is in the process of being updated. Please contact aauw.sev.az@gmail.com for assistance.

BRIDGE

Interest Leader:  Pat Noack

The Bridge group meets on the first Monday of each month at 1:00 PM and play until 3:30. Usually the group meets at Oakwood’s Poolside but can sometimes gather in a person’s home. Although the group does not consider themselves overly serious players, they do enjoy the camaraderie and competitiveness of the game.

If you wish to be added to the group, please contact Pat Noack via phone.

GREAT DECISIONS

Interest Leader: Cynthia Cantor

The Great Decisions Program is sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association (FPA), a private, non-profit and non-partisan educational association.   The FPA promotes awareness and informed opinions on U.S. foreign policy and global issues.

Each month the group selects one of the current year’s topics for discussion.  Members of the group take turns facilitating the discussion and/or hosting the meeting.  No special knowledge is necessary, just an interest in U.S. foreign policy and international affairs.   We welcome all points of view.

Our upcoming meeting schedule:

All Meetings are Wednesdays from 3-5PM
